Making a Cloth Book

I love cloth books — I have a whole Pinterest page devoted to them. Christmas + a new infant in the family gave me an excuse to research and engineer one myself — just fabric, without worrying over contents.

I found a set of videos I liked and got to work. Here’s how my “Book of Ruth” turned out. It is just cotton fabric from my stash, with no little “choking hazard” attachments. Each page was backed with cotton batting and gathered into four 4-page signatures. Then a spine and cover were added. It feels sturdy and should be easily washable. The videos, with their excellent directions, are included below.

My guide: Wendy Burgess (as ArtyGirl2010) created this set of videos, which I found very easy to follow and can be adapted for any purpose. I can’t wait to tackle another!
