Ontario NY. The roads are plowed. The driveway is plowed and windswept. The newspaper arrived. But that pesky “blowing and drifting” against the west side of our cabin has blocked our way out. Who knew that I’d have to don snowshoes to battle my way off our porch. This made me feel very pioneering.
I put the snow shovel on a handy hook off the porch rail. It is frozen solid there. (See photo above.) Luckily, we have another. I’ll dig a path later on, when I’ve thawed out from round one.

Those drifts on your porch look a little daunting! I’m glad you had another shovel.

Very daunting! I finally got my shovel freed today with the mild weather, but looks like mild weather is at an end and arctic temps just around the corner. Brought my second shovel indoors!
